After LBES comes LBMS and after Pack 42 Cub scouts comes Troop 42 Boy Scouts.  After 5 years with Den 6, my grandson, along with the Cubs of Den 5 and Den 12, joined the patrols of the Troop.

So, in mid-March, 2013, the boys who were Webelos just a week ago traveled to a cabin west of Milwaukee on a Friday, returned on Sunday, and prepared five meals inbetween.

Weekend Campout Review

The Troop had a fun campout this past weekend up at Indian Mound Scout Reservation.  The temperatures were great and the boys were able to spend a lot of time outside in the fresh air.  A lot of rank advancement skills were accomplished as well (good timing for the upcoming Court of Honor).  This was also the first campout for many of our New Scouts who just crossed over from Webelos.  I must say we have some great New Scouts who just joined the Troop.

The cabin we stayed in had vary nice accommodations.  Some of us, including myself, slept outside in the cool night air.  I do want to commend Second Class Scout Robert Pigg for camping outside in a tent with his father both nights.  Cold weather camping is a great skill and confidence builder.  Congratulations Robert!

Campout Leadership:  I would like to recognize our Senior Patrol Leader Zachary Boveri for his excellent leadership over the weekend.  This was also the first time campout for many.  No campout would be possible without the support and participation of adults.  I would like to personally thank the adults for driving and spending time at the campout:

Assistant Scoutmasters: Mr. James Bundrick, Mr. Joe Granda, Mr. Dave Kowalski
Troop Committee: Mr. Ed Pigg
Scout Parents: Mr. Andrew Rosa, Mr. Clint Hansen, Mr. Jeff Scott, Mr. Neal Nicholas,
Scout Grandparents: Mr. Don Russ and Mr. Mike Murray
